Why we do this.
Keeping the public domain public — original sources free to read, enhanced editions that do them justice, and tools to study them.
A specific gap to fill
There is an enormous catalog of public-domain books — philosophy, esoteric studies, mythology, early anthropology, forgotten political and religious writing — that nobody is reprinting in editions worth owning.
The PDFs that exist online are often unreadable scans. Many physical reprints are print-on-demand cash-grabs with mangled OCR text and stock-image covers. The originals are out of print or prohibitively expensive.
Our purpose is to keep those books open: the original source free to read, an enhanced Temple Seven edition for the readers who want one, and Loom for the readers who want to study them.
